Kaikoura Wilderness Walks offers 2 or 3 day guided hikes traversing New Zealand's highest privately owned land, 50 mins north of Kaikoura on the east coast of the South Island. Guests are treated to an authentic and sensory wilderness encounter, complemented by delicious meals and luxurious accommodation in an outstanding alpine environment. |

Shearwater Lodge
Our purpose built, eco-friendly lodge is set in a spectacular alpine valley at 1000m (3280ft). Rooms are super-king or twin share with ensuite bathroom and private balcony. Abundant Wildlife
The Puhi Peaks Nature Reserve is a protected Significant Natural Area of International Importance, renowned as haven for a diverse array of rare and endangered native species of flora and fauna including the Hutton's shearwaters and the black-eyed gecko. There is a huge array of plant life and amazing wildlife from the birdlife - rifleman, warbler, tomtit, falcon, pipit, New Zealand robin, white-eye, fantail, kereru, kingfisher and more - to larger animals such as chamois and deer.
